The work started by introducing NNT to Kantor’s imageries and processes, watching videos of his plays - mostly Dead Class -, images of his work and reading his texts.
Then forgetting research and experimenting on themes common in Kantor’s work: memory, war, theatre, contrast, individual vs. community, family, ritual, religion, objects.
From this point the actors created suspended material.
Finally, the process took us back the first moment, but now with memory, gestures, words and complete scenes.
With Chez Kantor I tried to plunge into Kantor's performatic language and I believe that only from within I could speak of something "having sense".
The play wasn't a re-enactement of past plays but a kind of "simulation", not to have the same results but to experience from within.
